Qwest History

In 1995 Southern Pacific Telecom, a subsidiary of the Anschutz Company began offering limited long distance services and changed its name to Qwest Communications; then incorporated in 1996.

On June 24, 1997, Qwest made its initial public offereing (IPO) and began trading.
Qwest currently trades on the NYSE under the ticker Q.
