Qwest & the Environment

As concerns about the long-term health of our environment continue to rise, consumers and businesses alike are focusing on ways to promote and practice the intelligent use of resources. At Qwest we are actively making choices to lessen our impact on the environment, while offering our customers solutions that enable them to do the same.

"Qwest's dedication to building environmentally sustainable communities is inspired by our customers, employees and partners. We strive to implement environmentally sustainable business practices that are ethically, socially and fiscally responsible."

                                                         – Stefan Stein, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer

Qwest’s Environmental Sustainability Council facilitates collaboration across the company with the goal of identifying and implementing actionable “greening” initiatives. The council aims to reduce Qwest’s carbon footprint and evaluate the ongoing economic feasibility of our green initiatives. It also guides our vendors to reduce or conserve energy and to utilize more sustainable products.

For the past three years, Qwest has submitted our carbon inventory to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). The CDP is an independent, not-for-profit organization that aims to create an ongoing relationship and meaningful dialogue between shareholders and corporations based on the implications of climate change.

Qwest's commitment to promoting local and global communities spans across philanthropic contributions, a pledge to maintain and grow diversity in our industry, a dedication to environmental responsibility and an obligation to ethical conduct in everything we do.

Partnering with other industries, groups and communities is imperative when it comes to environmental sustainability. That's why Qwest has joined forces with other thought leaders on many of its greening initiatives.
