As part of our commitment to diversity, Qwest® supports eight employee resource groups. The purpose of these groups is to embrace diversity to meet competitive challenges, maximize shareholder value and fully engage employees.
Current Qwest resource groups include:
- ABTP - (Alliance of Black Telecommunications Professionals) supporting African-American employees
- EAGLE - supporting Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender employees
- PAAN - (Pacific Asian American Network) supporting Asian and Pacific Islander employees
- QWEST FRIENDS - supporting persons with disabilities
- QWEST VETERANS - supporting Veterans and their families
- QWEST WOMEN - supporting women and men leading Qwest to success
- SOMOS - (Success Oriented Members Offering Support) supporting Hispanic employees
- VOMF - Voice of Many Feathers) supporting American Indian employees
Each of the resource groups is actively involved in planning events and activities—for employees and in the community - to promote diversity in various ways, including career development and continuing education, cultural awareness and strategic support both within Qwest and the communities we serve. The ideas and information exchanged with these groups helps to ensure that Qwest operates within its guiding principles:
- Customers Come First
- Our Team is United
- We Will Grow Profitably
- We Will Work Ethically and With Integrity
Membership in employee resource groups is open to all current Qwest employees.
