Before you start troubleshooting, verify that you are using a participating hotspot by using the locator tool.
Make sure the wireless on your laptop is enabled. Most laptops with built-in wireless have a physical switch or button to turn wireless on and off. Make sure this is in the on position (refer to your owner’s manual for more information).
If your computer has a wireless card or device that is removable, try taking it out and re-inserting it. Make sure the device is securely connected.
Check your computer’s power settings. Balanced or power saver settings increase battery life by reducing or turning off power to devices like wireless adapters. Try changing your power setting to 'Always On' or 'High Performance'.
Try to repair the wireless connection:
For XP users, if your computer is using 3rd party software to manage your wireless connection, trying using the native windows wireless manager by clicking start, type net start wzswsc and click OK. Then go to the next step.
Write down the Qwest Wi-Fi only tech support number 866-325-4228, then restart your computer.
