Qwest Broadband User Forum
User Guidelines
Welcome to the Qwest Broadband User Forum (the “Forum”). The Forum is a user-to-user support forum that enables anyone who uses Qwest broadband products to meet and discuss various topics, resolve issues, ask questions, get tips and advice, and more. Please note that the Forum is not an official customer support channel for Qwest. If you require direct assistance, please contact Qwest Technical Support directly (see Qwest’s Broadband Technical Support page at qwhelp.com and go to “Click for online chat”). At Qwest, we want the Forum to be appropriate, friendly, informative, and fun for all of our users. As a community forum, it is important to establish basic ground rules to ensure a positive experience for all users. Please refer to the Terms of Use for more information.
These User Guidelines may be changed at any time, so it is important to review them frequently.
The following guidelines are meant to provide helpful direction regarding what is expected of Forum users.
Stay on Topic
Please read the content of the posting carefully. If you have a comment or question regarding a new topic, please create a new posting.
Do not discuss other individuals or companies in an abusive or negative way and do not engage in personal attacks or harassment.
Please refrain from posting where you do not know the answer. Incorrect, misleading or incomplete responses do not help other users. Please feel free to respond to any post where you know the answer.
Member Conduct
Please be respectful of other users. The best monitoring of a community is frequently done by the participants themselves. If you see any offensive, abusive or otherwise inappropriate postings, please click on the “Report Abuse to a Moderator” link that is located on every post.
Netiquette
The term “Netiquette” refers to Internet Etiquette, which should include courteous and polite communications. The golden rule of Internet Etiquette is “Think Before Posting”. Typing in all capital letters should be avoided as it may be misinterpreted as screaming or yelling.
Do Not Post Inappropriate Content.
The Forum is a public forum widely accessible on the Internet. Inappropriate content includes any confidential or potentially embarrassing information about yourself or anyone else. This includes your real name, email address, phone number, and any information you do not want other people to see. Posting someone else’s confidential information will result in the termination of your access to these services without notice. Please remember that anything you post, you post at your own risk.
You use the Forum at your own risk. In any online forum it is not possible to be sure that other users are who they say they are, know what they say they know, or are affiliated with whom they say they are affiliated.
The Forum should be a positive experience for all users. Please refrain from posting any messages using insults, profanity, or other offensive content. The Forum has an automatic profanity filter that will block any inappropriate language. The Forum moderator may also remove inappropriate language or messages as well as revoking privileges of Forum users.
No Spam, Advertising, etc.
It is not consistent with the permissible uses outlined by the Terms of Service to post inappropriate Content on the Forum, including, but not limited to:
Content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, invasive of another’s privacy, vulgar, profane, sexually explicit, obscene, racially or ethnically offensive or otherwise objectionable;
Infringes on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary rights of any party;
Constitutes advertising or promotion, junk mail, “spamming,” chain letters, or any other form of unauthorized solicitation. Links that connect to commercial websites will not be considered unauthorized solicitations unless the link or the website content appears to be intended as a means of solicitation as determined by Qwest in its sole discretion; or
Contains software viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time bombs, cancelbots or any other computer code or files that are designed to disrupt, damage, or limit the functioning of any software or hardware.
No Trolling
Trolling is when messages are posted with the intention of upsetting or offending other users regarding a sensitive topic. Messages identified as “trolling messages” may be deleted by the Forum moderator and the Forum user’s posting privileges may be suspended or revoked.
No Flaming
Again, use of the Forum should be a positive experience for all users. Forum users should refrain from personal attacks against other users.
No Illegal or Unauthorized Use or Materials
By posting on this Forum, you agree that you will not upload, post, or otherwise transmit any content (including text, links, communications, software, images, sounds, data, or other information) that is illegal or unauthorized. Examples of illegal or unauthorized uses include, but are not limited to:
- modifying, adapting, translating, or reverse engineering any portion of the Forum;
- removing any copyright, trademark or other proprietary rights notices contained in or on the Forum;
- using any robot, spider, site search/retrieval application, or other device to retrieve or index any portion or the Forum, except as otherwise allowed by Qwest;
- using the communication systems provided by the Forum for any commercial solicitation purposes or soliciting any users of the Forum with respect to their submissions;
- reformatting or framing any portion of the web pages that are part of the Forum;
- creating user accounts by automated means or under false or fraudulent pretenses;
- creating or transmitting unwanted electronic communications such as “spam”, or chain letters to other users or otherwise interfering with other user’s enjoyment of the service;
- submitting Materials (as defined in the Terms of Use) of any third party without such third party’s prior written consent;
- directing any user (for example, by linking) to any Materials of any third party without such third party’s prior written consent;
- submitting Materials that falsely express or imply that such Materials are sponsored or endorsed by Qwest or the Forum;
- submitting Materials that infringe, misappropriate or violate the intellectual property, publicity, privacy or other proprietary rights of any party;
- transmitting any viruses, worms, defects, Trojan horses or other items of a destructive nature;
- submitting Materials that are unlawful or promote or encourage illegal activity; or

You agree to comply with all local rules regarding online conduct and acceptable content, including laws regulating the export of data from the United States or your country of residence.
