Qwest® is Becoming CenturyLink

A Strong Alternative for Business

Qwest is becoming CenturyLink, creating the third-largest telecommunications company in the US. The combined company will create a new force in the telecommunications industry that will improve the options we are able to offer our business customers.

What does this mean to you?

  • New name: The combined company will operate under the CenturyLink brand. However, it will take several months to fully implement the CenturyLink brand across all markets.
  • We are more local: The merger will effectively double the size of our network, allowing us to provide local service where our business customers are.
  • Additional new services: Because the combined company will have a strong financial profile, we will have more opportunity to invest in new infrastructure, new solutions, and innovative services to better meet your business needs.
  • Better and faster: We'll nearly double our network access points and with a network backbone that will soon be capable of up to 100 Gbps, the network will allow traffic to go from point-to-point efficiently. This means you can run bandwidth-hungry applications like video, telepresence and real-time data back-up without any decreases in security, quality or performance.

If you are an existing customer, you can be assured that both companies have been preparing for this day so our customer care organizations are defined and ready to support our expanded customer base. We will continue to offer our award-winning customer service, expert support and customized solutions.

  • Contact information: At this time, all customer care contact numbers and email boxes for the combined company will remain the same.
  • Billing: There are no changes planned for your billing at this time. Your Qwest or CenturyLink invoices will remain the same until further notice.
  • More questions? Please read our FAQs for details on your services, pricing, billing, payments, your account and your account team.

The combined company will continue to offer dedicated sales and service to business and government customers in local, national and select international markets with strategic and customized communications solutions via its fiber optic network, advanced business products, and state-of-the-art data centers. Please view our network map to see our expanded national footprint.
