Description

International Private Port is a secure and reliable private IP WAN, independent of the public Internet. It delivers a robust, global solution that enables seamless internetworking between domestic and international facilities to over 65 countries worldwide. International Private Port uses multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) packet forwarding technologies to make data forwarding decisions and improve the efficiency of your network. It also uses a flexible quality of service (QoS) to meet varying traffic needs. It supports four QoS queues that allow you to prioritize your applications into different priority classes based on IP precedence (IPP) bits.

International Private Port supports a variety of access types including Frame Relay and ATM. It simplifies any-to-any connectivity and allows you to segment and prioritize data traffic, enabling your business to take advantage of bandwidth-intensive applications and expand your virtual enterprise.

How it works

International Private Port provides a complete range of services for various enterprise networking requirements. MPLS fast re-route is used between every core router in the Qwest network, ensuring a quicker recovery time over synchronous optical network (SONET).

Qwest network operations centers (NOCs) have full visibility and control of the platform with 24-hour management. To facilitate access into their network, customers have the option of Qwest Private Ports with a variety of port speeds, ranging from 56 Kbps to 2.4 Gbps. The following port types are available in fractional or full access speeds:

• 3 – 10 Mbps (in increments of 1 Mbps)
