On an individual case basis (ICB) Qwest offers a site-to-site premises-based (CPE-based) IP VPN management bundle for site-to-site WAN applications. This bundle utilizes the existing IM device management functionality with incremental additions to accommodate the requirements of VPN tunnel configuration and management.

This service is ideal for customers wanting to use the Internet for their wide area connectivity and have the flexibility of one connection at each location to provide both Internet access and WAN service. Customers with a high volume of Internet traffic that is currently being backhauled to a main location for Internet access can realize significant cost efficiency by offloading this traffic from their WANs. This service is also appealing to customers wanting more security on their frame relay, ATM and Private MPLS networks. IPSec^™ service can add encryption and authentication to these networks to secure the data being transmitted.
